We all want lovely legs, but not all of us are supermodel tall. Here are my best tips and trick for making your legs look longer – it’s amazing what you can do with a bit of fashion!
Aim High
Opt for high waisted pants and skirts to define your waist and give the impression of elongated legs. Cara Delevigne is rocking it in these wide-legged trousers!
Shoes Wisely
Choose nude shoes, or match shoes to your tights or trousers. Think white oxfords with white tights, and black loafers with black tights – this prevents any stark ‘breaks’ in your outfit and instead creates flow. Classy and clever!
Skirt the Issue
Choose dresses and skirts, particularly pencil and A-line styles. If you’re a rectangle body shape wear fitted options like Angelina Jolie above. If you have a pear or triangle body shape, wear a pleated or flowing skirt that ends above the knees.
Tuck and Cropped
Tuck your tops into your trousers or skirts to enunciate the waist and lengthen the legs. Wear cropped jackets instead of full length ones to again highlight the waist.
Vertical Patterns
Wear bottoms with vertical details, like the striped culottes above. Avoid horizontal stripes as these will counteract your efforts to make your legs appear longer.
Asymmetrical Hemlines
Opting for asymmetrical hemlines in skirts and dresses will again give the illusion that your legs are longer than they appear.
No Fuss
Keep your bottoms free of detail. Create clean lines by wearing tailored trousers or structured skirts.
The Long and the Short of it
Avoid skirts and dresses that end at your calf as these make the legs appear shorter. Wear your hemline above or on the knee like Blake Lively.
