Over the years I have accumulated quite the list of useful fashion tricks. This article will give you a few ideas that are guaranteed to make your life easier!
1. When you are not wearing your favourite shoes, place socks in each pair to maintain their shape. 2. Use accessories to turn a plain ensemble into a statement outfit. 3. When it comes to combating odour, use baking soda, as it is the best deodoriser around.
4. If any of your white garments start to loose their colour, spritz with lemon juice prior to washing! 5. Are you looking to add a bit of height? Wear nude coloured pumps to make your legs appear longer. 6. Keep a lavender sachet (Or any other scented sachet) in your draws so that your garments always have a fresh scent.
7. When no one is around to help you with the zipper on the back of your dress, add a long ribbon or shoelace through the hole and pull the ribbon over your shoulder. 8. Make sure you replace your everyday bras every three to six months, as they will loose their elasticity. 9. Fix foundations stains with shaving cream; add to the stain before washing.
10. Break in a new pair of boots with hot air from your blow dryer. 11. Never rub a stain, as this will only deepen it. Instead you should blot it. 12. Hair spray will help to remove any lipstick stain off your clothes.
13. Use shampoo for oily hair to remove grease stains from your garments. 14. Remove scratches on leather with a tiny bit of moisturiser. 15. Wrap rubber bands on hangers to prevent your clothes from slipping. 16. Stop runs in your tights with clear nail polish of hairspray.
17. V-neck sweaters and tops will add length and height to a short torso. 18. Erase any underarm stains with lemon juice and baking soda. Scrub out the stains with a mix of lemon juice and water. If that doesn’t work try rubbing a paste of baking soda and water on the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, rinse and then place in the wash. 19. If your sunglasses are loose and you don’t have a screwdriver handy, add a small bit of clear nail polish over the hinge to tighten it temporarily.
20. If you are having trouble with a stuck zipper, add a bit of Vaseline to help it unzip smoothly.
