Whether you love the movies or you hate them, if you’re a fashion fanatic you simply can’t overlook The Oscars. This event epitomizes everything we think of when we think ‘Hollywood’ – glamour, sophistication, celebrities and of course, style. The 2016 Oscars maintained this notion. I’ve selected a few of my favourite outfits from the night so you can draw inspiration from a handful of the world’s greatest actors and actresses.
Rachel McAdams
Looking as stunning as ever in a silky August Getty Atelier gown, Rachel was the definition of elegance. The low back and leg split gave her outfit a sexy feel, while the flowing skirt spells class.
Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley
Tom and wife Charlotte were one of the hottest couples to grace the red carpet at this year’s Oscars. While Tom’s sunglasses are questionable, his three-piece Gucci tux more than makes up for things. And I’m loving that bow tie!
Charlize Theron
This blonde beauty shows us that the power of a red dress never dies. The plunging neckline of this Dior Haute Coutire gown does a great job showing off Charlize’s awesome figure, and her choice of an up-do keeps things looking classic.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Who else is thrilled that Leo (finally) won an Oscar? Luckily, Hollywood’s golden boy was looking more than dapper to receive his big award. Donning the classic black and white tuxedo (by Giorgio Armani, no less) and pairing it with polished Louboutins, Leo was the meaning of handsome.
Jennifer Garner
Jen sure knows how to pull off a Versace. The mum of three was radiant in a textured strapless dress that highlighted her slim waist, with simple makeup and hair giving her an overall fresh look.
Christian Bale and Sibi Blazic
One of my favourite actors, Christian was sexy and sophisticated in an all-black Dolce & Gabbana suit. The pair were gorgeous in their black attire, both with Cartier accessories to complete the look.
Olivia Wilde
Olivia strode onto the red carpet looking like a Greek goddess in this long Valentino Haute Couture dress. Keeping accessories to a minimum, she was stylish and seductive at the same time. My personal favourite piece of the night.
Michael Fassbender
Michael’s Tom Ford tux was the perfect cut for his great figure. Not one to garner as much attention as the likes of Leo, Michael was equally handsome and elegant, the pocket kerchief and Chopard watch adding a nice touch.
