Eliminate Stress From Your Life!

Stress comes in all shapes and sizes and usually hits us when we least need it. The only way to beat a stressful day is to slow down, enjoy your day and not loose sleep over the little things! Today we have some tips to help you avoid unneeded stress to enjoy a worry-free week. While they may be simple, sometimes thats all we need! Have a look at my seven stressors that you can eliminate for a happier state of mind:

The Naysayers

1 Everyone has an opinion, and more often than not, people will have an opinion about you. Whether it’s good or bad, you need to stop worrying about what other’s think of you.

You can’t please everyone, and that’s the truth! No matter what you do, there will always be someone who doesn’t agree or think the best of you.

Worrying too much about other’s opinions causes a bunch of needless stress – let it go today!

 

Success 2

Everyone has their own ideas about the definition of success but don’t fall for the hype and believe success is based on the amount of money in your bank account. If you do, you will constantly stress about becoming successful as defined by others.

There are plenty of other things in life that make you successful. Do you enjoy your work? Are you in a satisfying, healthy relationship? Are you healthy and have the support of your family? If so, you have more than a lot of people! Always look for the positives in life.

Social Media

3 While social media is a great way to stay connected with friends and family, it can  also make us feel bad about ourselves, according to recent research.

If you are dealing with a lot of problems, yet everyone online seems to be enjoying life, this can trigger feelings of jealousy and depression. So if browsing through Facebook makes you stressed and irritable, pull the plug for a few days and enjoy life without constant status updates. If you don’t believe me, think back to life before social media… It was more about living in the moment!

What If? 4

What if I had taken that job? What if I had said yes to that invitation? Obsessing about past opportunities can drive you crazy!!!! Let go of the past and live in the present.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason so there is a reason why you are where you are today. Find the beauty in it and enjoy!

 

Toxic Relationships

5 Some relationships are extremely toxic, and it is so important to identify these. Toxic friendships can work away at you and trigger emotions that range from jealousy to anxiety.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a friend, relative, or coworker, you need to recognize people who are not good for you, and either remove these people from your life or limit contact with them.

 

 

Traffic 6

Whether you are on your way to work or have a coffee date, sitting in rush hour traffic can make your blood boil and gets you in the wrong frame of mind.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about traffic, it is always going to be there, but you can leave your house a little earlier for work in the morning or plan to meet that friend before rush hour starts.

But if you are caught in a traffic jam, don’t stress if you are going to get on time. Listen to your favourite music or radio station and work your way through, the traffic will disperse and you will be out of there in no time.

Avoiding Lines

7 No matter where you go, there are lines. From the bank, to retail stores, to grocery stores. And if you are in a hurry, standing in a line can be a huge stressor. Limit you time in lines by signing up for online banking.

If you need to mail a package, you can schedule pickups from your home (Pass the Parcel is who I use), and some grocery stores (Countdown) will let you order items online for pickup. In this day and age, there are so many ways we can cut lines from our life!
